Description
The CEO is responsible for the management of all fiscal, human, and physician resources, the direction and coordination of all organizational operations and related activities for the purpose of attaining the goals and objectives as set forth by Partners of the practice. This individual leads the executive team and plans and directs the policies, objectives, and initiatives of the practice and all six current locations to above all ensure that the practice delivers high quality cost effective care. Responsible for the short and long-term profitability and growth of the practice. Approves work procedures, standards and ensures consistent implementation and enforcement. Represents the organization to referring providers, the industry, and the public. Responsible to ensure that the practice remains responsive to the communities it serves, especially in a time of continued uncertainty for the healthcare industry as reimbursement declines, competition increases and demand for services increases. Works closely with the partners to establish overall direction and strategic initiatives for the practice. A strong working knowledge of federal healthcare legislation, laws, regulations, and guidelines is required. Has acquired the business acumen and leadership experience to become a top function or division head.
Requirements
- Supports the operations and administration of the partners by maintaining continual, open and effective communication with the partners.
- Facilitates relationships between the partners, legal counsel and accounting and audit organizations, will manage the use of legal counsel for operational matters, and, will manage the engagement of accounting and audit organizations.
- Manages relationships between the physicians/providers and the staff.
- Leads the efforts to support physicians/providers.
- Participates in issues surrounding ethics and quality.
- In conjunction with the partners helps with oversight of all physician/providers that are employed by the practice.
- Ensures that the practice complies with payor, local, state and federal laws and regulations as they apply to the operation of the practice.
- Stays current with general trade and industry conditions and their potential impact on practice policies and operations, and in collaboration with the partners, develops the short-term and long-term strategic plan for the practice and its offered services.
- Has overall responsibility for the design, marketing, promotion, delivery, risk management and quality of all practice programs and services provided to our communities.
- Ensures that policies and practices effectively support sound and safe patient care, and that the delivery of services provides the highest level of a positive experience to the patient.
- Conducts or oversees the negotiation of professional, consultant, service, and vendor contracts.
- Empathetically supports, staff, physicians/providers and partners. Especially during stressful personal or work related situation. Should be able to help staff and physicians/providers manage burnout.
- Ensures that appropriate internal and management controls are established and maintained.
- Ensures effective management of the human resources of the practice according to current personnel policies, laws, regulations.
- Oversees the preservation of the asset value of capital investments, oversees the management of construction and facility activities, and ensures disaster and emergency preparedness activities are appropriately planned, exercised, and documented.
