Company Overview
Centre Eye Physicians and Surgeons is a privately owned practice located in State College, PA. The practice consists of a main office, that houses an optical shop, and a satellite office located about 30 minutes west of State College.
Position Summary
The Practice Manager position provides administrative leadership and support to the practice across all platforms. This individual is responsible for the day-to-day overseeing, planning, coordinating and administrative needs of the practice while working directly with the physician owner. The Practice Manager also oversee the optical shop. This is an on-site salaried exempt position.
Responsibilities
- Plan and direct the day-to day operations to meet the practice mission and philosophy
- Collaborate with the physician owner to develop business plans and operational objectives
- Manage daily work flow, work schedules and time cards for efficient office performance
- Lead staff to ensure professional patient care is achieved with an emphasis on customer service
- Oversee and perform all financial duties within the practice, such as, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for the owner and accountant
- Recruit, hire, onboard and evaluate employees. Administer training tools and programs to promote successful staff development and longevity. Maintain personnel files. Address disciplinary actions, exit interviews and termination proceedings. Cover staff call offs, shortages, and vacations when applicable.
- Manage all employee benefits. Work closely with benefits partners to ensure benefit information is correctly distributed and administered
- Serve as primary interface with business consultants (legal, accounting, consultants, vendors)
- Maintain and update employees regarding HIPAA, OSHA and other compliance guidelines or policies
- Supervise coding and billing processes to promote correct billing and ensure maximum reimbursement
- Develop and maintain company policies, procedures, and employee handbook
- Manage and maintain current hardware, upgrades, and software systems
- Strategically plan, manage, and oversee MIPS collection and reporting for accuracy

Requirements
Skills/Qualifications
- Management experience in a medical office, healthcare facility or an ophthalmologic clinical supervisory role is preferred
- Will consider candidates with a strong background in leadership, accounting, and management
- Must have excellent problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to self-motivate and self-direct
- Effective communicator with coaching and team-building skills
- Organized, adaptable and proactive. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Familiarity with Medent Practice Management and Sage 50 Accounting software a plus
Education/Experience
- Associates degree in management, accounting, finance, or an administrative medical program
- Five years of previous healthcare, business, or medical office management
- Strong financial background with accounting knowledge and experience
